2. Register at the local authorities where you live

If you have decided to live in Switzerland, you must imperatively “announce” yourself at the local authorities called “Office Cantonal de la Population et de la Migration” and inform them of your place of residence within 8 days of your arrival in Switzerland. This organization is responsible for keeping the registry of the population in the district up to date. You can find their opening times, the documents and the fees that you need to bring on the website of the district where you live.
