The Internet Computer is a decentralised network of independent computers and data centres connected by what is called the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) with blockchain governance. The ICP is a utility token that allows users to participate in and control the Internet Computer blockchain network.
The project aims to connect billions of people and provide millions of developers and entrepreneurs with a public computer platform. The Dfinity Foundation is a not-for-profit scientific research organisation based in Zurich that oversees research centres worldwide.
