SWISS ADMINISTRATION

Taxes

For those living in Switzerland

For all foreign employees in Switzerland withholding tax is deducted at source (P.A.Y.E. pay as you earn). It means that withholding tax is deducted directly from the salary every month. The tax percentage deducted varies depending on the canton. In order to determine your tax level, certain criteria as your marital status, your children and your salary level are taking into account.

To determine your tax level, please refer to the relevant canton website (ex: Vaud).

For those living in France (Frontaliers)

You are not taxed at source and you must provide an “attestation de residence fiscale” that you can obtain directly at the prefecture of your place of residence.

You will pay your taxes to the French Government, to determine your tax level, please refer to the French Government.
