A proof of address is a document that verifies your residential address. For Swissquote, acceptable documents include:

• Utility bills (such as gas, water, electricity, internet, mobile, or landline phone bills) not older than six months.
• Copies of tax bills.
• A certificate of residence issued by the local authority where you live.

The document should be in either English, French, German, or Italian (or translated if necessary).

Yes, you can open a joint account with Swissquote. Here are the steps:

1. First, you must already have a Swissquote account for one of the individuals. If you don’t have a Swissquote account yet, you can open one here: Open your account.
2. To convert your new or already existing Swissquote account into a joint account and to add a new account holder, download the "Joint Account Agreement" form here: Joint Account Agreement.
3. Send the signed Joint Account Agreement along with a certified copy of the passport of the additional account holder(s) by postal mail to:

Please note that no separate login data will be issued for other account holders.

If you are in Switzerland, you can have your passport/ID card/driving license notarized free of charge at any post office or SBB ticket office using Swissquote vouchers (which we are happy to send on request). We are also happy to provide notarized passport copies in the Swissquote lounge in Berne, Gland or Zurich. So please do visit us at our locations.

If you live in the EU, you can get your passport certified at your local authority or consulate or by a notary public or solicitor/lawyer.

If you live outside Europe, you can get a copy of your passport certified at a consulate or by a notary public or solicitor/lawyer.

Please note that the following elements must be available on the notarized copy of your passport:

• Date and place
• First name, surname and signature of the person issuing the notarization
• Stamp of the institution
